What is the B.E.D.?

The BELLEVUE ENTERTAINMENT DISTRICT ( or “The B.E.D.”) was introduced in late fall of 2019 as a place for adults ages 21 and up to sip-n-stroll the Avenue, allowing open container for alcohol in the district. Other cities refer to this as a “DORA” or Designated Outdoor Drinking Area. Bellevue is quirky and they always do things a little differently. The BED hours and days of operation were expanded in 2021.

BED HOURS: Permitted 9AM to Midnight

BED DAYS OF THE WEEK: Permitted 7 Days a Week!

Alcohol may be carried, possessed and consumed on Fairfield Avenue sidewalks, crosswalks, and participating Fairfield Avenue businesses. Alcohol may only be carried in a City-approved BED CUP, sold at participating establishments. Alcohol must be purchased by a licensed alcohol vendor within the BED district. Businesses retain the right to not allow BED cups within their business. Alcohol may not be taken out of the BED for any reason.

WHERE CAN I TAKE MY B.E.D. Cup?

Once you (an adult age 21+) have purchased your drink served in a designated BED cup, you can leave that establishment and are free to walk about within the boundaries of the Bellevue Entertainment District (along the sidewalks of Fairfield Avenue, stay in the proper crosswalks, and stay in Bellevue. You can also take your designated BED cup into retailers or other businesses that do not serve BED cup beverages, as long as they have an official “BED welcome here” sticker on their door or near their entrance. If a business does not allow a BED beverage inside, they will display the “No BED cups allowed” sticker on the entrance.
